September 14, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

free to members

The purpose of this weekly roundtable is for founders of color to connect and share experiences and support. The startup world is not an easy place to succeed, and being a founder of color adds a unique layer of challenges. In this current climate, community is more important than ever. How can we support each other on our way to the top? Facilitated by Anastasia Simon of Shadow Ventures. Monday’s special guest will be Burunda Prince-Jones.

About Burunda: Burunda Prince is the consummate value creator, exceling in leading complex organizations and high performing teams. With extensive experience across Fortune 500 corporations, management consulting, innovation, education and civic engagement, Burunda brings all of her talents and experiences to make organizations better. Her superpower resides at the intersection of technology, value creation and people.

As of this year, Burunda Prince joined the Russell Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship as its inaugural Chief Operating Officer. In that role, Burunda will continue and expand on the work begun at Comcast NBCUniversal The Farm supporting entrepreneurs and enabling sustained wealth generation for all communities.

More recently, Burunda launched and led Comcast NBCUniversal’s innovation hub, The Farm. In her managing director role of an accelerator, incubator, hardware lab and co-working space, she supported well over thirty companies and impacted hundreds more. Burunda was recognized numerous times for collaboration, innovation, and diversity, both in Atlanta’s startup ecosystem and the global tech accelerator community. There is a 2019 Harvard Business School Case, Burunda Prince at Comcast NBCUniversal The Farm, documenting Burunda’s visionary leadership. The Farm’s successful launch led to renewal and expansion to now include a Sports Tech accelerator.

Burunda was recognized as the 2018 Community Influencer by the Atlanta Startup Awards, and under her leadership The Farm received the Technology Association of Georgia (TAG) 2018 Diversity Leadership Award. She received the 2018 Essence Women En Blanc Award for Technology, was named a Cobb County Woman of Influence, and has spoken at tech events including TransAct 2018, the Digital Empowers Atlanta Forum, and Innovation Leader.
